Dear loved ones,
This week I have another lullaby for you - a song I wrote in the dead of night & half asleep. I woke up and had the fully formed song recorded in my phone. I love it when creativity happens like that!
You can see the film we made for the song on my Instagram @flowerseleanorflowers
Happy holidays - may your season be full of song.
Love,
Eleanor Flowers
Somebody sing with me
I put my head under the covers
To see how I sound underwater
The voice that came out it was mine
But it sounded
Like nightfall
So loud and lonely
Oooooh
A star locked out of the milky way
Somebody sing with me
Someone touch the flesh to the cold keys
Someone strum guitar
Good Samaritan
Oh somebody sing with me
A woman I know drinks alone
In the bar at the end of my road
And when she walks home
She drifts past my window
Singing drunkenly
Oooooooh
A star drops out of the milky way
Somebody sing with me
Someone touch the flesh to the cold keys
Someone strum guitar
Good Samaritan
Oh somebody sing with me
A bird doesn’t wait for her band
The sea pulls away from the land
Life isn’t going to plan
But I’ll sing in case angels are listening to me
Oooooooooh
Somebody sing with me
Someone touch the flesh to the cold keys
Someone strum guitar
Good Samaritan
Oh somebody sing with me
